Meet Aurea (ORE-ee-uh) Technologies

We are a team of outdoor enthusiasts with a love for renewable energy who wondered, “why there aren't more products on the market that let people easily create their own wind power?

Well… as we discovered...it’s pretty complicated, but after 5 years of designing, testing, and refining, we figured it out!

Brought to Life by an Incredible Community

In 2021, the Shine Turbine launched on Kickstarter and reached its funding goal within an hour. Five days later, the first production run of 500 Shine Turbines had sold out.

Following the success of the Kickstarter, Shine launched on Indiegogo Indemand and went on to receive support from over 2,000 crowdfunding backers from 50 countries.

Professionally Made, Obsessively Tested

Shine is made of aircraft-grade 6061-T6 aluminum and highly durable injection-molded PC-ABS, while its rotor also contains glass fill for extra rigidity.

Additionally, each turbine undergoes extensive quality control testing before it leaves our facility on the east coast of Canada. We're proud to be quality and environmentally-conscious manufacturers.

Our Commitment to You & the Planet

Reusability and Recyclability

Shine and its packaging have been designed with sustainability top of mind. Up to 85% of its parts are recyclable. For ease, we always recommend checking ahead to find out if your local recycling program will accept Shine.

Sustainable Materials

Our packaging is plastic-free and 100% recyclable and biodegradable. Our Shine box is made of 85% certified post-consumer recycled paper and our user manuals are printed on 100% certified post-consumer recycled paper.

Long-Lasting Design

Shine is made of durable metal, plastics, and electrical components to survive and thrive in the elements. The turbine has been designed for 1,000+ hours of operation, which for its application, is expected to last at least five years.

Environmentally Friendly Factory

The turbine is manufactured and tested in-house. This allows us to oversee and refine our production process for the highest quality and to reduce the GHGs that comes from shipping units in from overseas.
